Areas Primer
- (based on m2 but applies to other units)
- To find the area of a square or rectangle multiply the width x height
- Conversly to find the inverse use the square root function of a calculator (√)
- Therefore :-
- 1 m2 would be an square 1km on each side (1 x 1 = 1)
- 9 m2 could be an square 3km on each side (√9 = 3 or 3 x 3 = 9) or a rectangle 18m long and 0.5m high (18 x 0.5 = 9)
